INGREDIENTS:
Di Huang (Rehmannia root) 9g
Mu Tong (Akebia stem) 9g replaced by Tong Cao for Aristolochic Acid free
Gan Cao (Licorice root) 9 g
Dan Zhu Ye (Bamboo leaf) 9g
DIRECTIONS: Decoct the above herbs in water for oral administration.
EFFECTS: Cleaning heart for cooling blood, excreting water to treat stranguna.
INDICATIONS: Exuberant heat of the Heart Meridian manifested by irritable feverish sensation of chest, thirst with
desire for cool drinking, flushed face, oral ulceration; or transferring of the heart-heat to the small intestine marked by
scanty dark urine or difficulty and pain in micturition.
ANALYSIS OF FORMULA: This is a formula for clearing away the heart fire and facilitating diuresis. Di Huang
(Rehamnnia root) acts as the main herb to clear the heart for cooling blood as well as nourishing the kidney essence. As
the assistant herb, Dan Zhu Ye (bamboo leaf) can clear the heart for relieving vexation and induce heat out through
urine. Mu Tong (Akebia stem) is the adjuvant herb to clear away the heart heat and to facilitate diuresis. As the
dispatcher herb, Gan Cao (licorice root) clears heat poison and relieves painful urination as well as harmonizing all the
components.
