                ASSOCIATED FORMULAE FOR SI WU TANG

                                      Sheng Yu Tang
                                   (Shengyu Decoction)

This formula is composed of Si Wu Tang (Four Herbs Decoction) plus Hong Shen (ginseng) and Huang Qi (astragaIus
root). It can be decocted in water for oral administration. Its functions are to replenish qi, tonify the blood and command
the blood, and it is used for preceded menstruation manifested by profuse, thin and light red menses, lassitude of
extremities, general debility.

Note: Shengyu Tang  and Tao Hong Si Wu Tang both are derived from Si Wu Tang . The former containing astragal us
root strengthens effects to replenish qi and command the blood. The lat- ter containing peach kernel and safflower
increases effects of promoting blood circulation and removing stasis.
