Gui Zhi Jia Ren Shen Tang
(Cassia Twig and Ginseng Decoction)
SOURCE: Shang Han Lun (Treatise on Cold Attack) :
INGREDIENTS:  
Gui Zhi (Cassia twig) 6g,
Zhi Gan Cao (Roasted licorice root) 9g,
Bai Zhu (bighead atractylodes rhizome) 9g,
Ren She (ginseng) 6 g ,
Gan Jian (dry ginger) 5 g .
The above herbs should be decocted in water for oral administration.
Effects: Warming the interior and relieving the exterior, reinforcing qi for relieving stuffiness.
Indications: Not relief of the exterior syndrome after applying several purgation to the Taiyang diseases manifested by
fever with persistent diarrhea, stuffiness and hardness of epigastrium.
