This herb is the horns of the baffalo, Bubalus bubalis L. It is bitter and salty in flavour and cold in property. Its functions
include clearing heat, cooling the blood, and detoxicating. The efficacy is similar to, but less than that of Xi Jiao  (rhinoceros).
It is indicated for the invasion of ying and blood by the pathogenic heat, high fever, and delirium, being capable of sewing as a
substitute for rhinoceros horn. The dosage of it is relatively larger, i. e., 15~30g in general, taking orally with decoction or filed
